I just happened to bump into the brother of Ian Lewis tonight - Haven't seen him for years. Good catching-up with you again Nige ;)

Anyway, his brother, Ian, runs Whitby Studios (still!) which is based in the UK (Cheshire). Since 2003 they've been offering student placements for those wanting to learn the finer points of audio engineering, in a real working busy studio.

They're apparently looking for another again, to start September 2007.

As anyone in the industry will tell you, getting a placement is THE way to break into a full-time studio career - Their first placement, Chris Fielding, has, and they are currently working with their second "inductee" now.

I'm happy to put this out there because Ian is a sound, straight-up guy (and a sheet-hot keyboardist too!), plus it's good to see studios doing this. So if you fancy a stab, you can contact them via their site or email (below).

If you, or anyone you know, offer similar placement schemes, contact us and we'll put it out there.
