Propellerhead have declared their software to be ready for use within Microsoft's upcoming new operating system, Vista - Seems all the major music software vendors are clamouring to be ready in time now.

To be precise, Propellerhead have announced the following software versions to be compatible:

  • Reason 3.0.4
  • ReCycle 2.1
  • Reload 1.0.1

Note the following:

  1. Reason, ReCycle and Reload all require administrative privileges the first time they are installed and launched in Windows Vista. This is because of the enhanced security features in Vista.
  2. If you're upgrading from an earlier version of Windows, to Windows Vista, you will need to reauthorize. You will need your original CDs as well as your license number.

ReWire and Rex Need New Installer

ReWire and Rex are also compatible with Windows Vista. However, as a result of the enhanced security features in Windows Vista, the way ReWire and Rex need to be installed has changed. Propellerhead have created a special Installer for both ReWire and Rex for Vista users.

This installer can be downloaded here.

Hardware Reminder

If you're using any hardware devices with any of the above Propellerhead software - such as a keyboard controller - don't forget to consult the hardware manufacturer's website for more information about Vista compatibility, before you upgrade your operating system.
