Is An Amd Turion64 Ml-34 Slower Than An Amd Athlonxp 2700+ Processor?

Focusrite Saffire Firewire Audio
Asked by: ArthurEisele
I have a desktop running AMD AthlonXP 2700+ and 512MB of DDR ram. Recently, I bought a laptop running AMD Turion64 ML-34 and 1GB of ram. Both computers are intended for pro audio use, specifically running (Emagic) Logic and VST instruments.
With the desktop, I used an Echo Gina soundcard and had no problems. With the laptop, I am using a Focusrite Saffire (firewire) soundcard and am getting clicks and pops when playing my songs on Logic. I am unsure whether this is the result of a slower processor or a soundcard driver issue.
Hence my question of whether the Turion ML-34 is slower/faster than my old Athlon 2700+ processor.
Thank you in advance

Turions are faster. Clicks and pops are 100% driver issues since its rare to have IRQ conflicts now with PCI steering
