Question relating to...

Midi Controller

Asked by: jukey_23

What is the difference? I know one is a keyboard and the other is only a module, but what do I have to have in order to use the module? A controller? Just a regular MIDI capable keyboard? I am really considering getting one, but I don't know if I should. I can't afford a triton or a motif, or even an XP 80, but the modules seem to be in better price range on ebay

My first time on this website, and i see a question i know a lot about! I own a Motif ES6, mophatt, virtuoso 2000, ms2000r, and have owned a triton rack. The most obvious difference, as you noted, is the lack of a keyboard. You can use any midi controller keyboard to control the modules sounds. Another significant difference is the lack of a sequencer on the modules. This means in order to sequence together songs, you will need a sequencer as well ( Akai MPC, Logic, Cubase, Sonar, ProTools, etc ).

Hope that helps. And don't get an XP 80 =
